Special Issues: Guidelines for Guest Editors
Special Issues are usually a compilation of articles whose research is based on a common theme that is also relevant and pertinent to the scope and objectives of the TGEJ journal. Special Issues are produced by one or more Guest Editors, who are also assisted by the Editor-in-Chief of the TGEJ journal.

Special Issues that are of superior quality and contain research studies, articles, reviews, etc, of deep significance to the field of Biomedical Engineering are capable of drawing in scores of fresh audiences to TGEJ, including both readers and authors.
When it comes to the page limits for research papers and articles, as well limits on the number of articles and papers that can be included in a Special Issue, there are no limits. Any number of articles with any number of pages can be included in a Special Issue, as long as each page of each article included contains insights, theories, data, outcomes, conclusions, etc, are of the highest significance to the field of Biomedical Engineering and they meet the quality standards of the TGEJ journal.
Guest Editors are required to undertake their primary obligation of liaising with all authors who are contributing articles and peer reviewers. All the criteria and guidelines for the reviewing process and acceptance of manuscripts that apply to articles for regular issues apply to articles for Special Issues as well. Just like in regular issues, all articles (except Editorials) that are deemed acceptable for publication in a Special Issue have to be subject to the double peer-review process, in which they are reviewed by two independent reviewers.
